Where the Pothies' journey began
It was love at first sight.
The moment I clapped my eyes on my first pair of red and pink Pothies (coming from the Greek word for feet), I was smitten. They lit a flame inside me that would take me on the most fantastical journey of growth, learning, crafting and joy, leading me all the way here. To you.
Made originally as a birthday gift from Cumbrian crafter Judith Whitard to her Greek love over 70 years ago, Pothies reflect ancient gypsy crafts, a grounding force to counteract today’s modern world. Judith grew her trade, and word-of-mouth took Pothies to every corner of the world. And then they found me.
There’s an honesty to Pothy making that nurtures my soul. They stand for simplicity and goodness whilst also bringing colour, imagination and a little eccentricity to every day. Very much like me.

I’m a friendly, snug hug made just for you. I’m hand stitched with love and a sprinkle of magic, reflecting where I’ve come from and the special place I now fill in the hearts of all that wear me. And I can be whatever colour you want, a joyful reminder of your favourite places or people.

How it all works.
My slipper slots
Pothies are made uniquely for you and your feet, so I only craft them at set times in the year. Sign up for my newsletter to be the first to know when ‘slipper slots’ become available.
Choosing your size
Wide or narrow. Big or small. Dainty to dinner plates. Because everyone’s feet are different, I make your Pothies fit just so. If you’re a standard size choose according to my size guide… But if you’re not sure then my foot template makes it super quick and easy for you to measure your feet and share your details with me.
Choosing your colour
What would life be without colour? It’s one of my greatest pleasures, and I love choosing colours that evoke emotions, a memory of a particular place, or a playful nod to a loved one, like the greens and yellows of a spring meadow or the red of your favourite uncle’s cheeks after a brisk walk.

Because of the unique nature of Pothies, it’s impossible for me to care-craft them all year round. Every pair is made uniquely for you and take time to get right.

You can use my foot template to send me a drawing of your feet and all your measurements, and we’ll go from there. There’s no extra charge for this, and you can be reassured your slippers will fit perfectly.
