Pay it forward

You can now pay it forward for someone who needs the comforting warmth of the Cosymajig; my original hot water bottle carrier.

Paying it forward means I can provide free warmth to people experiencing homelessness, energy poverty or health issues across the UK.
You can get involved in two ways:

1)

Nominate someone you know who could benefit from the Cosymajig but can’t afford one. This could be yourself, a friend or family member or someone in your community.
Donate whatever you can afford. When enough donations are in the pot, the next person on the nomination list will receive a free Cosymajig.

Why is this so important to me?

When I started out, I was trying to protect my design (this is called intellectual property). I read a story about a Big Issue seller called Kevin who had created his own version called ‘The Hottie’, and he wore it every day when selling magazines. Sadly, Kevin passed away. Not wanting to step on anyone’s toes, and to honour Kevin, I got in touch with his friends to explain what I was doing, and they were delighted.

Since that moment, I’ve been trying to find a way to get the Cosymajig out to folk who need them most but can’t afford them. Reaching dead ends trying to work with charities, I did the next best thing and raised money for the homeless by taking cold dips in the sea every day. But it still didn’t feel enough. With the cost of living crisis and a huge hike in energy bills, my motivation to pay it forward has gotten bigger and bigger, and I’m so grateful to finally be able to offer a way to make a difference.

I know the Cosymajig isn’t going to fix the big problems, but if it can make people feel that little bit more comfortable, like a warm hug, then I believe it’s worth it.

Pay it forward is all about being able to show gratitude in meaningful way, sharing an abundance of what you have with someone who has less. I’m thankful everyday for the love my customers share, embracing my quest to spread joy and deep soul comfort. This is my way of giving back – and it can be yours too.
